Get to Know our Staff

Bette Ann Jaster, OP is our Director. She is a Dominican Sisters of Hope and holds a BS in Nursing, emphasis on community health, BA in Human Services. Bette Ann brings years of experience in community organizing and neighborhood development, especially working with the poor and homeless. She has a special way of presence with our participants, making them feel as if they are a welcome member of the earth community.

Julie Schwab, OP is our full-time GreenFingers Director. She has as a B.S. degree in elementary and special education. Julie taught for many years and recently received a M.A. in Ecology, Culture and Sustainability. She has diverse experience working with women’s groups; community organizing; and developing ecological micro-enterprises that promoted reforestation and gardening in Guatemala, C.A.

Cheri Lea Hagger, Finance and development coordinator. She has over twenty-eight years experience for non-profit and for-profit corporations in public relations and media relations, resource development, marketing communications, event coordination and fundraising, and grant writing. Cheri Lea is also an author, teacher, counselor and faith-based healer. She attended a small country high school in northeastern Colorado and has completed college level courses in psychology, Eastern and Western religions, natural sciences and writing. She is a fourth generation Colorado native who lives in Westminster, Colorado.

Mary Nelle Gage is a Sister of Loretto who joined us in May of 2003 working part-time as our Marketing Coordinator for EarthLinks GreenFingers Project. You are likely to see her working at any one of the various booths and festival where we will be displaying the GreenFingers product line of bookmarks, gift cards, candles and photo albums. Originally born a Texan, and a Graduate of Loretto Heights, she brings great energy and enthusiasm to the GreenFingers Project.

Sarah Spellman is a Loretto Volunteer who is the Garden Coordinator. She is a recent graduate from Berea College with a Child and Family studies major. Sarah's hopes to spend her year as a volunteer wtih EarthLinks creating gardeners and spending quality time with EarthLinks participants.
