What we are about: We connect homeless and at-risk, low-income persons with

nature, offering innovative programs, providing healing adventures, sense of

community and support toward empowering life changes. Through day trips into

nature, garden projects, and GreenFingers First Steps Toward Employment Program,

these women and men have a chance to experience new learning, the welcome of

community and enjoy the peacefulness of the natural world. The experiences are

simple and yet profound. People's lives are touched, spirits renewed, their bodies relaxed.

Mission Statement: EarthLinks connect low-income people with the natural world

for the mutual benefit for both the person and the planet

Why We Do What We Do: As a practical form of Earth Literacy with the poor and marginalized,

EarthLinks use the Earth that is around us as the teacher, the textbook, the classroom and the nurturer of life. We

provide new opportunities for our participants, whose lives are in chaos through homelessness, violence,

addictions, mental health issues or poverty. Through day trips into nature, garden projects, and Green Fingers

Project, these women, men and children have a chance to experience new learning, the welcome of community

and enjoy the peacefulness of the natural world. The experiences are simple and yet profound. People's lives are

touched, spirits are renewed, their bodies more relaxed. Awareness of the natural world increases, which serves

them well as they return to difficult situations where they attempt to make life-giving choices

 Our History:

EarthLinks began in 1996 through the vision, initiative and dedication of Bette Ann

Jaster, OP (Dominican Sisters of Hope) , and Cathy Mueller, SL (Sisters of

Loretto). Read more......
