It has been months since we planted our first seeds in February for our beautiful state flower, the Columbine. Columbine seeds require stratification, a process of putting the seeds in the fridge at night and bringing them back out into the light during the day. Every morning, we loving brought the seeds into the light, and every evening, put them back into the cold they love. The world rejoices and grieves in such tight timing, and I still don’t know what to make of it. I’m continually learning and observing. A few weeks ago, the EarthLinks community rejoiced in a participant’s move from the women’s transitional shelter to an apartment of her own. She collected pots, pans, silverware, and other items to help make the abrupt transition from stuffy bunk beds to personal space seem okay. From the Executive Director: Remarkable Generosity

The call came on a Friday afternoon. We had sent out a letter to our donors explaining that we would need to move from our location sometime in the near future. We were hoping that our donors could help us to reach our $30,000 goal in order to receive a $15,000 matching grant. Our donors are all very generous and supportive of our organization, and it very much is a “grass-roots” organization.  Most of our donations are between $1 and $100. And we are grateful.
