From the Executive Director: Reflections on the Winter Solstice

I write this on the day with the longest night in the northern hemisphere: the Winter Solstice.  Others, more thoughtful and enlightened than I, have written about this day, sharing reflections that are meaningful and inspiring.  Sitting with the dark gives us time to rest, reflect and refresh. Yet darkness is a source of fear and uncertainty – how can we move forward if we cannot see where we are or where we are going. For that matter, how can we know where we have been?
