Where everybody knows your name…

Workshop mornings are always a clamor of greetings: “Good morning, Joe!” “Janet, how has your week been?” “How are you today, Miss A?” “I’m hanging in there, Jennay, how are you?” This cacophony of hearing one another’s names spoken is one of my favorite parts of the day. I love working in a place where people know my name, and where I can call other people by name. Plant Sale Recap

It has been months since we planted our first seeds in February for our beautiful state flower, the Columbine. Columbine seeds require stratification, a process of putting the seeds in the fridge at night and bringing them back out into the light during the day. Every morning, we loving brought the seeds into the light, and every evening, put them back into the cold they love. We were rewarded with high germination rates, and lots of baby columbines to care for. Shortly after we planted the columbines, we planted violas,  pansies, bell peppers, and kale. On May 18th and 19th, EarthLinks is hitting the pavement as an official Charity Partner of the 2013 Kaiser Permanente Colfax Marathon! As a Charity Partner, we have the wonderful opportunity to bring our community together to run, walk, and volunteer in support of our programs sustaining people and the planet.
