Volunteer Program

EarthLinks truly relies on the love and support of our volunteers, who have stepped up and helped us through some difficult times. over 627 volunteers logged over 6,846 hours with EarthLinks in 2017, helping with sales, product creation, grounds work, food preparation, office and garden work, fundraising, and other services to our participants. Without this help, EarthLinks would not be where it is today.

To get involved, contact Carolyn@earthlinks-colorado.org to schedule a visit to EarthLinks. To get a jump start on the process, you can click the link below to create your volunteer profile. After creating your profile, you must sign up for a Volunteer Orientation. We usually hold orientation every second and fourth Thursday of each month at 10 am. If you are unable to attend either of the two sessions, contact us to arrange for another time.

Volunteer Opportunities:

The EarthLinks Workshop runs from 9:30 to 11:30 am Tuesday through Thursday. Workshop Volunteers prepare materials for products, make craft products alongside our participants, press flowers, help with food prep for breakfast, sort finished products, and other tasks as they arise. We welcome your creativity and expertise!
During regular Workshop time (Tuesday through Thursday, 8:00-11:30am), we also need help in our Peace Garden. Volunteers work compost, transplant flowers and vegetables, help with general cleanup or maintenance, pick flowers and foliage for use in the workshop, water, weed, and other garden work as needed. Please dress for outdoor work and bring a water bottle.
Our biggest area of need, we need help running craft fair booths at markets around the Denver Metro area. The vast majority of our sales happen on weekends during the pre-holiday months (October thru December). Sales volunteer shifts usually last 2 to 4 hours, and include engaging visitors, completing sales, restocking our table as needed, and passing out information. If you sign up for this volunteer position, we will contact you throughout the year as need arises.
When Nature Trips are scheduled, we sometimes need additional help preparing a picnic lunch the day before or driving the day of the trip.
Come work with us in the EarthLinks Office for a day! We need help with online marketing, communications, social media, maintaining our mailing lists, preparing mailings, researching online for materials and equipment for our workshop, writing grants, and many other opportunities. Let us know where your experience and interests are and we’ll find the right job for you!
When you volunteer as a Marketing Assistant, you’ll help us find and contact organizations and stores where our products would make a perfect fit! If we can increase our sales, we can engage more people in our programs. Marketing gurus contact the office for more information!
Want to help raise funds for our programs and build community another way? In addition to joining our Development Committee and helping plan Imagine, you can help us organize a special fundraising event (e.g. product sales, dinner party where guests are invited for a donation, bake sale at work, educational movie night, etc.), or lead a Fundraising Challenge Team (challenge 10 of your friends, family, or neighbors to $10 each and raise $100 for EarthLinks!). There are many, many possibilities!
For information about joining our Fundraising, Facilities, or Special Events Committees, please contact Cass. Let us know if you have any friends who might be a great match for our committees!
If you’re handy we can always use help maintaining our office and workshop. We already have many tools here!
Don’t see a volunteer opportunity that quite fits what you’d like to offer? We can work with you to create a position that will meet your needs and ours. Let us know!
